What is the "card verification code"? 
On the reverse side of your credit card, in the signature field, you'll find some numbers. The rightmost group of three digits is the card verification code. Here is a detailed explanation and a picture for you.

Why can't I pay online with American Express card anymore?
Amex changed the contracts beginning of 2000 and excluded internet orders. The new contract was not acceptable, therefore we decided to remove the Amex symbols from our online presence. We don't think that this was a wise decision of Amex, but we can't make them change their mind. So please use a card which can easily be used via internet Visa, Mastercard, or Diners Club.
